Telephone and Voicemail


For phone and voicemail services in the residence halls, you can use Google Voice through your AU Google account or personal Google account. Google Voice allows you to make phone calls anywhere in the United States and Canada for free.

Additional Google Voice features include:

  • Google Voice app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry
  • Do Not Disturb option
  • Send SMS to multiple recipients
  • Voicemail with text transcription

To use Google Voice, first make sure you have the following:

  • A computer
  • A microphone that plugs into your computer or
  • For privacy use a headset with a microphone that plugs into your computer
  • Access to your Adelphi Gmail account

Once you have all of the above:

  1. Log in to your Adelphi Gmail account
  2. Download the Google Voice plugin so you will be able to make calls
  3. Click on the phone icon located on the far left above Gmail chat section
  4. Use the keypad that pops up to place your call
